Job summary

Kindred Hospital Chattanooga is seeking an RN to plan and deliver patient care in a 49-bed long-term acute care setting. The role emphasizes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation with collaboration across physicians, nursing supervisors, and staff.

You will develop care plans with patients and families, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and participate in discharge planning while ensuring safety and quality care across shifts.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary certificate or diploma in nursing from an accredited program.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN licensure in state of practice (or compact licensure).
• Basic Life Support required; ACLS preferred.
• 6 months Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Fluent English; good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provides planning and delivery of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation).
• Develops and coordinates nursing care plans with patient, family, and interdisciplinary staff; participates in discharge planning.
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and co-workers.
• Performs/ supervises nursing care within licensure; assigns tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Administers medications safely following five rights and hospital policies.
• Educates patient and family about pain management and care plans; supports handoffs and documentation.
• Interacts professionally with patients, families, and staff; ensures patient safety and quality care.
