Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a capable nurse for the 7PM–7AM shift in a clinical setting. The role involves autonomous nursing care, independent decision-making and delegation to other care providers as needed to manage patient situations.

Required are a BSN preference, BLS certification, and an RN license (state or compact). Experience of 1 year in a related specialty is preferred; the position is full-time and on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
