Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time PM shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with hourly pay ranging from $30.00 to $48.00.

The role uses the nursing process to promote health, prevent illness, and deliver cost-effective patient care in collaboration with the care team. Qualifications include a nursing degree, RN license in Alabama, BLS certification, and preferred BSN; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one (1) year of emergency or ICU nursing experience is required.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.

Responsibilities

• To utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in health promotion and illness prevention.
• To delegate, coordinate and manage all aspects of nursing care in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• To deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team and with the knowledge of a licensed physician, psychologist, podiatrist, and/or dentist.
