Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a professional registered nurse to provide patient- and family-centered care using the nursing process.

You will develop care plans with patients and designated care partners, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs in alignment with cultural beliefs and values. You will collaborate with inter-professional teams, educate patients and families, use IT to monitor outcomes, and contribute to safety and quality

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma in Nursing required.
• Patient- and Family-Centered Practice knowledge of conveying respect and collaborating with patients and families.
• Cultural Awareness in diverse backgrounds and connecting respectfully.
• Effective Communication: convey ideas clearly with patients and families; delegate appropriately.
• Knowledge of patient assessment and care planning to guide treatment.
• Medication administration and discharge planning knowledge for continuing care.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, patients, their family/designated care partner(s), and other staff consistent with Jefferson Health values.
• Partners with patients and families in identifying learning needs and provides education that is useful and respectful.
• Uses information technology to communicate, monitor outcomes, and support improvement of care quality.
• Functions within nursing and inter-professional teams with open communication and shared decision-making.
• Participates in safety and quality committees and seeks feedback to improve practice.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and may act as a preceptor to staff.
