Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Nursing Float Pool at RWJUH Hamilton Hospital. The role supports surgical and invasive procedures, emphasizes teamwork and safety, and offers opportunities for growth within a purpose-driven health system.

Candidates must hold an active New Jersey RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications, and preferably a BSN. Night shifts with rotating weekends/holidays are available in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• ASN or Nursing diploma required; BSN strongly preferred and BSN within five years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients undergoing surgery or invasive procedures.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and intervene on clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and other providers for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families to support understanding and readiness for next steps.
• Document care accurately in the EMR (EPIC).
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care transitions.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and continuous improvement.
