Qualifications

• RN licensure in Rhode Island or eligible for licensure per compact.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
• NIHSS certification within 3 months of hire and ongoing stroke education.
• ACLS/PALS as appropriate and demonstrated life-support knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and coordinates nursing activities.
• Delegates, supervises and participates in safe nursing care with the team.
• Evaluates patient care effectiveness and identifies improvement opportunities.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient, family and community for discharge planning.
• Provides teaching based on patient and family needs; participates in quality improvement.
• Maintains clinical competencies and participates in professional development.
• Acts as role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
