Job summary

SSM Health in Missouri is seeking a nurse to assist in a variety of nursing care services for patients, under supervision and in collaboration with other health care professionals. You will contribute to safe care by monitoring patients, responding to calls, and supporting the team in daily patient needs.

The role involves helping with activities of daily living, performing dressings, ostomy care, and preparing patients for discharge, while providing compassionate support and accurate charting

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• Six months experience as a nurse.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Contributes to overall quality and safe care for patients by answering calls for help, taking vital signs, and monitoring condition.
• Assists with activities of daily living, baths, ambulation, feeding, hygiene, and bed making.
• Performs dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, catheter care, specimen collection, and intake/output measurements.
• Provides compassionate environment, timely responses, emotional support, and open communication.
• Relays information via charting and communicates with team members; participates in department initiatives.
• Prepares patients for discharge and accompanies them upon dismissal; assists with supplies and equipment.
• Orients new patients and significant others to the nursing unit.

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

Graduate is: an experienced nurse relocating from another state or country and awaiting appropriate state documentation to work as an RN
