Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
• Current registered nurse’s license in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS certification.
• Accepts assignment to any behavioral health unit.
• CPI training within 30 days of hire date.
• Computer skills required to be effective on assigned units.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of staff.
• Prefer hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and nursing care across behavioral health units.
• Administer treatments and medications and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Formulate a plan of care and collaborate with other health care providers.
• Educate patients and family members as appropriate.
• Pass required competencies for the position.
