Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN required.
• Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas
• Current BLS certification
• CPI training within 30 days of hire date
• Computer skills required to be effective on assigned units
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Prefer hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Ensures care is delivered in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Standards.
• Performs nursing care using sound judgment; administers medications and therapies.
• Admits, discharges and transfers patients; transcribes and implements orders.
• Maintains detailed and accurate records of nursing actions.
• Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Builds a positive work environment and coordinates care with team members.
