Job summary

The Swan Food Company is seeking an ammonia refrigeration technician for a full-time night shift in a food manufacturing setting. Starting pay is $30.25 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential for hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., with a 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; two-year degree in a maintenance trade preferred.
• Minimum 0–1 year of related ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance, electrical, HVAC or plumbing; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Qualify for HAZMAT certification and boiler license.
• Adhere to safety policies per OSHA and company rules.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment to ensure safe, compliant operation.
• Repair and overhauls on ammonia refrigeration systems, replacing motors, pumps, switches, controls, solenoids and fuses.
• Maintain boilers, evaporators and condensers, ensuring proper water treatment, airflow and pump/fan operation.
• Assist with setup/teardown and installation of new plant machinery; support major repairs and construction.
• Follow safety protocols including LOTO, confined space, respiratory protection, fall protection and Hazmat training.
