Job summary

Pilgrim’s Refrigeration Technician position requires monitoring and maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems with a Sunday–Thursday night shift (9:30 pm–6:00 am). You will observe operation, read gauges, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues to ensure safe, efficient performance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, record-keeping, and timely defect resolutions. HazMat training is required, and the company supports safety, growth, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of ammonia refrigeration or maintenance experience required.
• Experience with A/C and D/C control devices.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Able to work while walking/standing for long periods of time.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Must pass PFT test.

Responsibilities

• Start system and observe operation.
• Inspect equipment and system to observe operating condition.
• Record pressure and temperature readings during operation.
• Test lines components and connections for leaks.
• Perform preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators and icemakers.
• Keep records of repairs and causes of malfunctions.
• Maintain records per standard operating procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
