Job summary

SBM is seeking a Recycle Technician to help recycle, reuse, and reclaim materials in a fast-paced environment. You will collect, salvage, and sort materials, inspect items, and maintain dock and collection areas while following safety rules and company procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1-2 years recycling experience; CPR/First Aid is a plus. You should be able to lift up to 35 pounds, read instructions, and communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of recycling experience.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus.
• A valid driver’s license may be required based on business needs; maintain acceptable MVR.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• Hazardous Waste Handling Training per RCRA.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recycle materials or waste materials.
• Inspect and sort materials.
• Maintain dock and collection areas.
• Work with multiple collection containers.
• Maintain logs and schedules.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and reporting systems and environmental importance.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items.
