Night Shift Receptionist/Security Guard - Part Time

Join us to apply for the Night Shift Receptionist/Security Guard - Part Time role at The Village of St. Edward.

Position Details
  • Part-time position (24 hours per week)
  • Schedule: 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
  • Location: Fairlawn (across from Summit Mall)

We are seeking a committed, kind, knowledgeable, and respectful individual to join our Fairlawn team as a Night Shift Receptionist/Security Desk staff.

Position Summary

Aligned with the mission and values of The Village of St. Edward, the Night Shift Receptionist/Security Desk is responsible for welcoming residents, families, and visitors both in person and on the phone, answering or referring inquiries, directing visitors, and securing the building according to policies and procedures during afternoon and night shifts.

Responsibilities
  1. Answer facility and front desk phones promptly, relay messages to appropriate personnel.
  2. Monitor Sara system, assist residents, and answer calls.
  3. Secure the building by checking all doors and windows in public areas.
  4. Carry a cell phone and two-way radio when not at the front desk.
  5. Patrol the facility regularly.
  6. Familiarize with all emergency shut-off procedures for water, gas, and electricity.
  7. Handle emergencies calmly and according to policies.
  8. Greet visitors entering the facility.
  9. Perform housekeeping duties as assigned and as time permits.
  10. Provide shift handover with equipment and keys.
  11. Clear ice and snow from walks.
  12. Support the philosophy of person-centered care (PCC).
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Training or background in hotel reception/security and first aid is a plus.
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions; communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Physical Qualifications
  • Lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs independently; over 75 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach at various angles.
  • Walk, sit, and stand intermittently during shifts.
  • Work in well-lit, ventilated environments.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the public.
