Position Overview: Performs duties to ensure the safety of all building staff, including submitting written safety and incident reports as required by Safety and Security Management.

Responsibilities:

1. Confers with principal, staff, and students to enhance communication and multicultural understanding.
2. Observes and reports potential problems in and around the building.
3. Develops methods to prevent unauthorized intrusion within the school building.
4. Protects individual rights and school property.
5. Supervises pupil movement and oversees priority areas before, during, and after school.
6. Submits written safety and incident reports as required.
7. Monitors magnetometers and X-Ray machines to control access and detect contraband.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Experience in school or urban safety and security procedures.
3. Mature judgment and ability to relate to individuals in conflict situations.
4. Effective communication skills with diverse age groups within the school system.
5. OPOTC certification with "120 hours" and private police certification at application time.
6. Mandatory CMSD annual training (40 hours) will be provided.
