Job summary

Railserve in New Martinsville, WV (Blue Racer) is hiring dependable, safety‑focused Rail Switching Technicians to support daily rail operations at an industrial facility. This full‑time, outdoor, hands‑on role is critical to keeping railcars moving safely and efficiently.

Night shift is 9:30 PM – 5:30 AM with weekends and holidays included. You will operate locomotives and assist with switching operations, helping ensure the safe movement and placement of railcars.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and rotating schedules.
• Outdoor, physically demanding work environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect locomotives prior to operation and ensure readiness.
• Operate locomotive controls (throttle, air brakes).
• Interpret train orders, signals, and safety rules.
• Assist with switching, placement, and movement of railcars.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
