Job summary

Smart Sand, Inc. is seeking a Rail Loader at our Oakdale, WI facility. This role loads sand into rail cars using computer-controlled systems, performs car inspections, and handles outgoing shipments under MSHA safety standards.

The position reports to the Logistics Shift Supervisor and requires flexibility for shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include documentation, loading operations, and collaboration with the locomotive team to ensure accurate car spots and safe,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• MSHA training and experience is a plus.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Load finished sand into railcars following loading procedures and safety standards.
• Complete required documentation accurately.
• Inspect hopper car and loading equipment for proper operation.
• Coordinate with locomotive operator on car spots and movements.
• Maintain loading records and communicate problems to management.
• Secure loaded hopper cars and finalize paperwork.
• Perform routine checks and minor repairs to railcars as needed.
