Job summary

LiDestri Foods is seeking a Quality Technician for the 12-hour night shift in Rochester, NY. You will monitor food safety and product quality, running GMP/GLP compliant inspections and analytical tests to ensure compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities include non-conforming material holds, microbiological testing, calibration of lab equipment, data analysis, and communication with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to wear PPE (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net, Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes).
• Intermediate computer and communication skills, math, and reasoning.
• Ability to use measurement tools and gauges.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Prior experience in quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform product and batch inspections.
• Maintain GMP and GLP standards in work areas and equipment.
• Hold non-conforming materials on instruction from QA.
• Perform analytical and microbiological testing as defined by Food Safety/QC systems.
• Verify product codes and chart recorders.
• Conduct microbiological activities (ATP swabs, culture swabs, plating).
• Monitor thermal process checks (pasteurizer temps, sterilization).
• Support GMP/GLP and Food Safety programs.
• Keep lab equipment calibrated and maintained.
• Analyze data and interpret SPC to drive decisions.
• Conduct 24-hour sensory evaluation in the lab.
• Participate in internal inspections and audits.
• Maintain accurate records to meet government/company requirements.
• Communicate quality concerns promptly and collaborate with teams.
• Organize sample storage and retention areas.
