Job summary

Schuman Cheese is seeking a Quality Supervisor in Elgin, IL to lead a team of quality technicians and manage lab operations. You will ensure products meet safety and quality standards, train staff, monitor production lines, and conduct quality checks in a food manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills. Hours are 8:00 pm to 4:00 am with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in science or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Effective collaboration and influence skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Attention to detail; thorough and accurate in work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality requirements compliance with certifications and standards.
• Follow SOPs and GMP practices across labs and production.
• Perform daily GMP audits and oversee sanitation-to-production transitions.
• Conduct routine checks on leaks, temps, weights, moisture, appearance.
• Perform product and process quality checks per specifications and food safety checks.
• Investigate quality issues to identify root causes and solutions.
• Liaise between QA technicians and production.
• Support QA Manager during audits and inspections.
• Enter data into spreadsheets and maintain records.
• Engage production staff in GMP programs and policies.
