Job summary

H.B. Fuller Company is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician in Grand Rapids, MI, on a 12-night (2-2-3) schedule, 6pm–6:30am. The role tests raw materials, in-process batches, and finished products, communicating results to operations and initiating investigations for non-conforming materials.

You will work with cross-functional teams, record data in SAP, and maintain laboratory equipment and safety protocols while supporting investigations and batch reviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a junior college degree or higher in a chemistry-related field.
• Laboratory experience is required.
• Ability to communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical, physical, and visual testing using standard procedures.
• Record test data and SAP usage decisions.
• Determine raw material adjustment amounts to meet specifications.
• Collect and store retain samples as required.
• Create non-conformance notifications and complete initial investigations.
• Support customer complaint investigations through batch and sample review.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and housekeeping standards.
• Prepare reagents and ensure readiness for scheduled production testing.
