Job summary

H.B. Fuller is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician I to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation. You will perform quality control tests on raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, enter results in SAP, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes accurate data handling, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with Production and Engineering teams. Associate degree in chemistry or related field is preferred, HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree, technical diploma, or coursework in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field preferred.
• Previous laboratory experience required; experience within a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and testing procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Familiarity with Disciplined Process Improvement or continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality testing on Work-in-Progress, Finished Goods, and Engineering Trial products according to established Quality Control Inspection Plans.
• Verify the validity of test results and accurately enter data into SAP and other quality management systems.
• Ensure all test results and related quality data are recorded, maintained, and reported in quality records and databases.
• Identify Non-Conforming and Engineering Trial materials per site procedures.
• Test expired Finished Goods and advise on shelf-life extensions or disposal.
• Inspect customer-returned products and communicate findings to Quality and Engineering teams on schedule.
• Generate COAs via SAP and submit to customer portals as required.
• Maintain retained samples per retention procedures.
• Communicate product quality concerns and testing results to Production and stakeholders.
