Job summary

Kennametal Inc. is seeking a PVD Furnace Operator in Orwell, Ohio, for a 12-hour night shift (6:40 PM–6:40 AM). The role loads, runs, and monitors PVD coating furnaces to coat carbide and Cermet inserts, ensuring setup accuracy, data entry, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include testing coating thickness and adhesion, performing routine cleanings, and keeping work areas clean while meeting daily production goals. On-site employment with a shift premium applies.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 2-year technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload fixtures with product into furnaces.
• Enter product weights and coating cycle data into computer.
• Start and monitor the coating process.
• Clean fixtures and base plates between heats.
• Ensure adequate gas supply and replace gas tanks as needed.
• Ensure targets and melts are adequate for the process.
