Job summary

Firelands Regional Medical Center is seeking a RN or LPN-IV Psychiatric nurse for the full-time night shift (7p-7a) on-site in Sandusky, OH. The role emphasizes delivering comprehensive psychiatric nursing care, adherence to physician orders, documentation, and patient education for safe discharge.

Ideal candidates hold an Ohio RN or LPN-IV license, CPR, and may have additional psychiatric certs. Strong organizational, customer service, and computer skills are required; ACLS/Basic EKG preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN or LPN-IV license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Psychiatric Certification, Basic EKG, and ACLS preferred.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
