Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Safety Manager for the Pt. Pleasant, WV area.

The role will oversee day-to-day project safety disciplines and ensure site operations meet safety requirements. This is a night shift position, focused on instilling safety as a top priority across all crews. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction safety supervision, strong civil construction knowledge, and OSHA 500 or BCSP credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Five plus years in a construction safety supervisorial role.
• Highly knowledgeable in civil construction safety practices.
• OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
• BCSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instill safety as a top priority and maintain a safe work environment.
• Develop and oversee the Project Safety Program with site policies.
• Conduct training including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
• Monitor heavy construction work for safety compliance.
• Manage budgets and cost-control within safety scope.
• Stop unsafe work and empower team training and awareness.
• Assess risk and investigate incidents to improve safety.
• Provide and analyze project safety statistics.
• Assist Project Manager with project setups.
