Job summary

Magnera Corporation is seeking a Shift Supervisor in Statesville, NC, to oversee the safety and performance of the manufacturing process. Responsibilities

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing safety, uptime, quality, waste, rate, and cost performance of the assigned asset. They lead and direct team members to perform their duties, adhere to expectations, and rigorously follow JSAs, SOPs, 6S, and systems.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead plant safety objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop team members.
  • Implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • Participate in employment decisions such as hiring, promotions, and terminations.
  • Manage attendance data.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and high performance through coaching and feedback.
  • Set accountability for problem-solving and cost reduction.
  • Perform 6S, safety, process, and quality audits.
  • Address gaps and ensure resolution.
  • Report asset quality, productivity, and other metrics accurately.
  • Communicate changes in business, production schedules, and policies.
  • Monitor quality and advise when to halt production based on material specifications, in collaboration with Process Tech and Leadership.
  • Attend and facilitate downtime, safety, asset, and planning meetings.
  • Conduct shift handovers and team meetings.
  • Complete all reports accurately, including production, downtime, and incidents.
  • Assist operators and coordinate troubleshooting.
  • Support Customer Service in resolving complaints.
Qualifications

  • Education: College degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in manufacturing. JDE experience is preferred. Non-woven industry experience is a plus. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification is preferred.
