Job summary

CRH plc is seeking a shift supervisor for our Virginia manufacturing facility. You will supervise a production team, set daily goals, ensure safety, and coordinate with maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, staff training, inventory tracking, and maintaining quality standards. Candidates must lift up to 50 lbs, operate forklift, and work in temperature variations.

Qualifications

• Previous team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience providing on the job training to team members and operating forklift, bobcat, and loader.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set production goals and expectations.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment; set up and operate machines.
• Listen for unusual sounds and discuss issues with maintenance to diagnose problems.
• Operate forklift as directed while following safety policies.
• Inspect work in progress and finished products.
• Oversee the daily preventive maintenance program.
• Track and report inventory and parts usage.
• Analyze scorecards and day shift production reports.
• Train, promote, and discipline employees.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and safety program adhered to.
• Supervise department to meet quality and production standards.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

• Set production goals and expectations
• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Set up and operate machinery
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
• Operate forklift as directed and without supervision while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures
• Inspect work in progress and finished product
• Oversee the daily preventive maintenance program
• Track/report inventory and parts usage
• Analyze scorecards and day shift production reports
• Train, promote, and discipline employees
• Ensure all safety rules are followed and employee follow safety program
• Supervise employees in department to ensure they meet quality and production standards
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• Previous team lead experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience providing on the job training to team members to include but not limited to the operation of forklift, bobcat, loader, and development of production machine troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and endure intermittent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Walking up and down elevated catwalks and stairs and standing for long periods of time
• Ability to work in all environmental conditions and extreme temperatures

• The hourly pay is $25-$30, based on experience
