Job summary

3M is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Cynthiana, KY site to lead 20–50 production staff across five departments. The role requires night shift commitment, safety, quality, and efficiency emphasis, and strong leadership to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
• Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment (private, public, government or military).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
• Previous management and/or supervisory experience.
• Five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, mechanical, computer, administrative, and short-term planning skills.
• Knowledge of process equipment such as coaters, slitters, compounding and solvent recovery.
• Experience working with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with DOT compliance and hazardous materials regulations.
• Good people skills including the ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Direct management and supervision of 20 - 50 production employees across five production departments.
• Approve and close production reports to ensure production reporting accuracy where applicable.
• Ensure administrative services such as audit standards, vacation planning, and overtime are implemented and documented.
• Oversee weekday overtime coverage and fill weekend OT assignments as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment by identifying and addressing safety or ergonomic issues.
• Complete safety incident reports with follow-up to close loop on safety.
• Conduct performance evaluations or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Develop employees in safety, quality, technology, leadership, productivity, and yield through coaching and training.
• Provide daily management of departments in safety, quality, service, people flow, and material flow using leader standard work and lean audits.
• Troubleshoot equipment and quality problems using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement teams and promote morale across the organization.
