Job summary

Gulf Island LLC is hiring a Press Brake Operator for the night shift in Houma, LA. The role involves setting up and operating press brake machines to bend sheet metal for generator enclosures, reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and ensuring quality control.

Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, maintaining equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and collaborating with the team to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read a tape measure and interpret basic drawings.
• Experience operating a press brake preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, SOPs and measurement tools for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate press brake machines to bend, form or punch sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, blueprints, SOPs and measurement tools to ensure accuracy.
• Select proper tooling and dies for each job and perform adjustments as needed.
• Inspect parts during and after production to verify conformance to specifications.
• Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running.
• Maintain equipment by performing basic troubleshooting, cleaning and reporting mechanical issues.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
