Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA, is seeking a Press Brake Operator to join our fabrication shop. You will operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal for generator enclosures, reading blueprints and ensuring accuracy.

Responsibilities include setup, tooling selection, quality checks and adherence to safety. The role requires 1+ years of press brake experience, ability to read measurements, and passing drug, background and medical screenings.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience operating a press brake.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate press brake machines to bend, form or punch sheet metal according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, blueprints, SOPs and measurement tools to ensure accuracy.
• Select proper tooling and dies for each job and perform adjustments as needed.
• Inspect parts during and after production to verify conformance to specifications.
• Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running.
• Maintain equipment by performing basic troubleshooting, cleaning and reporting mechanical issues.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
