Job summary

San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) seeks an experienced Superintendent of Power and Mechanical Maintenance to lead the division responsible for traction power, electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems across BART facilities. The role includes emergency maintenance oversight and coordination with operations, engineering, and external vendors.

The incumbent will drive preventive maintenance programs, review specifications, manage capital projects, and ensure safety,

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or a related field.
• Five years of maintenance/repair experience for heavy industrial electrical or mechanical systems, with at least two years in supervision.
• Valid California driver's license and mobility for field inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversee power and mechanical maintenance programs, including traction power, electrical and elevator/escalator systems.
• Plan, direct and review work plans for the division and manage budgets.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, contractors and vendors for maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance and district policies.
