Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Nightshift Production Shift Manager to lead and direct the poultry processing production shift. The role focuses on meeting production objectives at quality levels while controlling costs and maintaining a safe work environment.

The position requires strong leadership, supervisory experience, and a proven ability to coordinate multiple departments including maintenance, sanitation, quality, and shipping. A high school diploma is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in the poultry/food industry with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to interact with operational and processing management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize work
• Strong critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Manage poultry processing production operations.
• Coordinate the production, maintenance, sanitation, quality, shipping and receiving areas.
• Monitor performance of each department to meet production efficiency, yield, and quality goals.
• Set objectives and review shift performance versus objectives.
• Encourage subordinates to find ways to reduce cost and improve safety.
• Ensure sanitation meets USDA standards and OSHA compliance.
• Coordinate production and sanitation maintenance to meet daily needs.
• Analyze equipment daily and review with maintenance supervision.
• Provide clear direction for supervisors to work toward and encourage teamwork.
• Establish challenging goals and standards for supervisors and drive performance.
• Ensure effective utilization of human resources through training, motivation, performance appraisal, and developing for promotion.
