Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Frisco is seeking a PRN Postpartum Registered Nurse for the night shift. The RN will plan, direct, coordinate, and implement all nursing care for postpartum and gynecologic patients, delivering high-quality, safe patient care.

You will monitor maternal/fetal status, administer medications, support breastfeeding, document care in the EMR (Meditech/GE Centricity) systems, and collaborate with the care team to meet patient and unit needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• RN licensure, current in the State of Texas.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) is required before the completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care within the scope of the RN practice act and hospital policies.
• Assesses psychosocial, educational, and physical needs age-appropriately.
• Performs maternal/fetal monitoring, assessment, and interpretation.
• Monitors lab values and reports abnormalities per policy.
• Assists with anesthesia monitoring including epidurals and locals.
• Communicates patient status to oncoming nurses using SHARE; bedside report for patient involvement.
• Responds to emergencies with compassion and speed.
• Develops and updates care plans daily; sets measurable goals.
• Documents patient/family education and uses appropriate resources.

Education

Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing

RN licensure in Texas

Basic Life Support (BLS)
