Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Frisco is seeking a PRN Postpartum Registered Nurse for night shifts. The RN will plan, direct, and provide nursing care for postpartum and gynecologic patients, ensuring high-quality, safe care compliant with federal/state standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Texas with active status.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP certification required before orientation ends.
• 1 year hospital RN experience in L/D/Antepartum/Postpartum/medical-surgical.
• Graduate nurses considered for internship on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within RN scope and hospital policies.
• Assess psychosocial, educational, and physical needs across age groups.
• Perform maternal/fetal monitoring and interpretation.
• Monitor labs and report abnormalities.
• Assist with anesthesia-related monitoring (epidurals, general, locals).
• Communicate patient status to the team using SHARE and bedside reports.
• Respond to emergencies with appropriate action.
• Develop and update daily care plans to meet goals.
• Educate patient/family and document education.
• Manage pain using pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods.
• Administer medications safely and assess response.
• Support breastfeeding per policies.
• Use GE Centricity Centricity Perinatal System for documentation.
