Job summary

- Associate degree in polysomnographic technology.
- Graduate of NYSED-approved polysomnography program.
- Approximately 2 years of related experience.
- BLS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents; may order supplies as authorized.
- Ensure facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition; coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Ensure patient safety is maintained at all times.
- Maintain sterile environment and observe infection control precautions.
- Record sleep/wake physiology and perform diagnostic/therapeutic polysomnography under physician orders.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing.
- Summarize sleep study results in a technical report for conferences.
- Assist in training new technicians.
- Maintain a clinical database with sleep data files and related records.
