Job summary

Marmon Utility LLC is hiring a Plastics Operator for our Seymour, CT facility to plan, set up and operate extrusion machinery, applying plastic layer jackets to wire and cable. You will maintain high quality standards in production and handle documentation, labeling, and safety procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferred technical training, and prior manufacturing experience. This is a full-time, onsite position with shift options and employee benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machinery preferred.
• Manufacturing experience, preferably in cable or wire production.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safe machinery operation.
• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation / work orders.
• Set up work process / machinery.
• Operate, monitor, and adjust extrusion machinery.
• Set up and operate process aids.
• Monitor quality and perform quality checks.
• Clean out machine and associated components, clean tooling.
• Perform cable splices as required during pay off reel change.
• Operate forklift, powered moving equipment, and change propane cylinders.
• Generate labels, apply to product, and document in the ERP database.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
