Randstad USA is partnering with a premier manufacturing client to recruit a Night Shift Supervisor in Mooresville, NC. You will lead production, assembly, and fabrication operations on the night shift, prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency.

The role requires coaching a diverse night crew, driving continuous improvement, and coordinating with Quality and Planning teams. Shift is 10 PM–6 AM with a salary around $65k per year.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in a business or engineering field, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience within manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to train, coach, and manage a diverse team.
• Solid problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot process issues.
• Ability to read, interpret, and present safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance documents.
• Basic math skills across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise processes and team members across production, assembly, fabrication, or maintenance areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Plan and assign work while promptly troubleshooting process issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Manage team administration, including tracking absenteeism, timekeeping, and PTO.
• Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen, PM, and 5S initiatives.
• Coach and develop staff, resolve conflicts, and oversee training records.

Candidate Requirements

• Associate Degree in a business or engineering field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 2 years of proven supervisory experience within a manufacturing setting.
• strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train, coach, and manage a diverse team.
• Solid problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot process-related issues and adapt to varying operational variables.
• Ability to read, interpret, and present information from safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance documents.
• Basic mathematical proficiency (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing across whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
• High level of integrity, dependability, and a strict commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Day-to-Day Duties

• Supervise processes and team members across production, assembly, fabrication, or maintenance areas to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Plan and assign work while promptly troubleshooting process issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Manage team administration, including tracking absenteeism, timekeeping, and Paid Time Off (PTO).
• Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen activities, Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Global 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) initiatives.
• Coach and develop staff, resolve employee conflicts through proper channels, and oversee the completion of required training records.
• Champion all safety initiatives, conduct accident investigations, coordinate responses to workplace injuries, and enforce environmental management policies.
• Collaborate with Quality and Production Planning teams to maintain proper inventory levels and consistently meet customer demands.

The essential functions of this role include:
