Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company in Frederick, MD is seeking a General Maintenance helper for the 3rd shift to assist with general tasks and support the maintenance team. This entry-level role offers learning opportunities and long-term development under supervision.

Responsibilities include basic inspections, preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring safety compliance with MSHA/OSHA. A High School diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required, with readiness to learn and grow

Qualifications

Experience in maintenance with heavy equipment preferred.
Entry-level role with basic mechanical and safety knowledge.
Must follow safety procedures and MSHA/OSHA guidelines.
Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components such as belts, idlers, pulleys, and water pumps.
Perform structural repairs, welding, cutting and grinding of wear parts.
Adhere to MSHA/OSHA, enforce LOTO, and maintain a hazard-free work area.
Observe operations to identify anomalies and adjust equipment as needed.
Record and maintain service logs and maintenance reports for plant equipment.
