Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a General Maintenance helper for a 3rd shift, night rotation at our Northeast Division. This entry‑level role assists with general site tasks and supports the maintenance team under supervision, with potential for long‑term growth within the company.

The position requires basic mechanical aptitude, a High School diploma or GED, safety awareness, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in maintenance, preferably with heavy equipment.
• Basic safety procedures knowledge.
• Willingness to learn mechanical maintenance.
• Exposure to preventative maintenance under supervision.
• Entry level mechanic capable of general utility work under supervision.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre/post-shift equipment inspections and perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components such as belts, idlers, pulleys, and pumps.
• Perform structural repairs using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
• Adhere to MSHA and OSHA regulations; perform Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain a hazard-free area.
• Record service logs and maintenance records for plant equipment.
