Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an entry-level General Maintenance assistant for night shifts at our Georgia site. The role focuses on assisting with general tasks around the worksite, learning basic maintenance functions, and supporting the maintenance team to ensure reliable plant operation.

Under supervision, you will participate in minor preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and basic repairs while developing skills for long-term growth within the company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in maintenance or heavy equipment preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety and ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-shift and post-shift inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and replace basic mechanical components such as belts, pumps, pulleys, and idlers.
• Perform minor structural repairs using welding, cutting, and grinding equipment.
• Follow MSHA and OSHA regulations and implement Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Note issues and support maintenance team with records and logs.
