Job summary

Farmers Union Industries, LLC in Redwood Falls, MN is hiring for a Plant Maintenance role on the 3rd shift. The position focuses on keeping production equipment running, performing preventive maintenance, and repairing grinders, pumps, motors, and gear boxes.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with mechanical or electrical discipline; experience in food/feed production, a plus
• Experience operating welding/metal fabrication equipment; pass a weld test during onsite interview
• Experience operating a skid steer and forklift; pass in-house Forklift Certification once employed
• Ability and interest in attaining boilers and/or wastewater licenses, preferred
• Experience with plumbing and/or electrical, a plus
• Knowledge of safety procedures including confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, lockout tagout, and hot work
• Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers and follow written/verbal instructions
• Read and understand signs, warnings, manuals, and wiring schematics for maintenance/equipment
• Proficient in basic math, measurement, and reading data trends; record information clearly
• Understand and operate basic computer systems; work independently or in a team
• Willingness to work extra hours during week or weekend; 18+ years old

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install production equipment throughout the facility
• Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance tasks
• Maintain, repair, or replace grinders, augers, pumps, motors, and gear boxes
• Respond to emergency radio calls; repair machinery with minimal downtime
• Document materials used and time spent on maintenance projects; report supply needs
• Assist inventory counts and Parts Coordinator with cycles counts and deliveries
• Follow all safety and regulatory requirements including environmental and food safety
