Job summary

The TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a lead construction supervisor to organize crews, schedules and safety on industrial sites in Port Arthur, TX. You will coordinate with project management to meet timelines and budget while ensuring quality workmanship.

Responsibilities include supervising crews, inspecting progress, maintaining records, and enforcing safety rules. Strong communication and planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft workers under supervision.
• Ability to perform task planning to safely and efficiently carry out all aspects of work assigned, train/ teach safety practices, policies and procedures.
• Have a working knowledge of scheduling, material control and unit manhour performance, estimating fundamentals and job cost management systems.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with craft workers under supervision and management/supervision.
• Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Management to organize crew, materials, and equipment to achieve productivity and quality while managing costs.
• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
• Maintain accurate reporting records including job quantities, productivity rates, time sheets and daily management reports.
• May assist in developing a weekly schedule and in carrying out sequence of activities for assigned crew.
• Ensure timely completion of work within estimated costs while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Uphold safety of crew and ensure operations comply with company and government safety rules.
• Develop and maintain crew attitude through toolbox meetings and clear safety communication.
• Monitor compliance with all company policies by employees under supervision.
• Continuously check crew work and adjust plans and schedules as required.
• Prioritize workload and operate within defined budget.
