Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is seeking a patient care assistant for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. You will provide approved patient care under RN supervision, supervise activities of daily living, and assist with 1 on 1 observation as required.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent along with one of several clinical credentials or recent patient care experience, CPR certification, and maintenance of certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and one of the following options.
• ACEN/CCNE or NLN CNEA-accredited clinical rotation, OR
• Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days if CNA from another state), OR
• Ohio or National EMS Registry, OR
• 1+ years of patient care experience within the last three years
• CPR training and maintenance of certification required

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide approved care for assigned patients under RN supervision.
• Supervise daily living activities and assist with observation as needed.
• Assist co-workers after completing own duties and help with de-escalation when necessary.
• Assist with patient transport and maintain safety procedures.
