Job summary

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories is seeking a Night Shift Workflow Coordinator at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. The role oversees the Specimen Control Department, coordinating collections and phlebotomists to ensure timely draws and accurate specimen handling.

The position requires at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience; night shift offers a 15% differential. You may perform phlebotomy duties as needed and support safety and training initiatives within a fast-paced hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year phlebotomy/processing experience.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Must be detailed oriented, have excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate a strong history of dependability.
• Must not be in corrective action above the level of Warning.
• An ongoing qualification to remain in the position is to avoid corrective action above the level of Warning.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and processing duties per procedures with proper patient identification and specimen labelling.
• Coordinate daily workload assignments and monitor phlebotomists, assisting as needed.
• Support communication with internal and external customers via timely phone response and dispatching.
• Field and resolve pre-analytical issues within scope, using sound judgment and keeping staff informed.
• Assist with safety audits, training, and stocking of collection rooms and carts.
• Load patient specimens onto laboratory instruments and float to other sites as needed.
