Job summary

TriHealth at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, OH seeks a Phlebotomist to serve as a liaison for laboratory customers and to procure high-quality specimens for diagnostic testing across age groups.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification, and 1–2 years of experience; duties include data entry into LIS/HIS systems and completing orders with OIG-compliant documentation. Night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation are possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
• 1-2 years' experience in Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison for a wide variety of laboratory customers.
• Procure quality specimens from patients across different age groups for diagnostic testing.
• Perform EKGs on outpatients as needed.
• Make and receive telephone calls to/from customers, gather data required for service and billing, answer questions, and resolve issues.
• Complete documentation to meet OIG compliance guidelines, including accurate interpretation and transcription of physician orders and LIS/HIS order entry.
• Receive incoming specimens, enter patient demographics and test orders using LIS/HIS systems, label specimens, and distribute them to the appropriate lab departments for testing.
