Job summary

Englewood Health, comprising Englewood Hospital, seeks a Per Diem Phlebotomist for the Laboratory – Phlebotomy. The role covers night shifts (9:30pm–5:30am, EOW Fri & Sat) in Englewood, NJ. Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, and ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program; certification preferred. Prior phlebotomy/MA experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; medical/ phlebotomy-related program preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification or Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Echoes of phlebotomy duties and safety procedures in a clinical lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignment and performs duties according to established standards and practices.
• Performs phlebotomy tasks including venipuncture, finger sticks and heel sticks.
• Ensures patient safety, comfort, privacy and uses AIDET when interacting with patients.
• Reviews doctor scripts/requisitions in outpatient settings and matches tests in the system.
• Labels specimens at chair/bedside and ensures correct patient identification.
• Maintains supplies, disposes of sharps, and keeps a clean, safe environment.
