Job summary

Allina Health is hiring for an entry-level Phlebotomy role in Minneapolis, MN, tied to the ANW Lab - Phlebotomy. The 0.8 FTE night shift (10:00 PM–6:30 AM) includes alternating weekend coverage and on-site responsibilities in an inpatient setting.

The role trains under supervision, offering exposure to hospital operations, patient care, and workflow development within the lab. Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma; phlebotomy experience and certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; 5–7 years phlebotomy experience is desirable.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred per job posting.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine laboratory procedures within established guidelines.
• Verifies patient identification and correct sample collection methods.
• Collects samples (venipuncture/capillary) and labels specimens accurately.
• Prepares and processes specimens and ensures proper workflow.
• Assists in training staff and students and supports SOP development.
