Job summary

UPMC St. Margaret is seeking an experienced Night Program Phlebotomist to join our hospital laboratory team. The role requires reliable, team-oriented professionals with at least one year of phlebotomy experience beyond school and prior night shift work.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen transport, data entry, and patient instruction. Inpatient phlebotomy experience is a plus, with a culture that emphasizes support, safety, and excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience beyond school.
• Night shift experience is required.
• Inpatient hospital phlebotomy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with laboratory customers courteously and professionally; respond to inquiries.
• Perform venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick; instruct patients on collection procedures as needed.
• Maintain proper patient identification and enter data in the information system accurately.
• Transport specimens to the appropriate section following safety procedures.
• Assist with clerical duties and train new staff as applicable.
