Job summary

Henderson Group in Bartlesville, OK is seeking a phlebotomist for a 3-month contract to perform blood draws, specimen handling and data recording on the 3rd shift (6:30 pm–7:00 am) with rotating weekends. The role requires a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 2 years of experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

You will collect and label specimens, ensure accuracy of requisitions and maintain compliant laboratory practices.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisition forms to tubes; label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport; maintain required temperatures and proper labeling.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
