Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in executing safe and effective pharmaceutical care across locations, including acute, community, ambulatory, and specialty settings.

This 7 on/off graveyard shift role involves sterile IV room operations with hours 2100-0730, Wednesday through Tuesday, and holiday coverage if on shift. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all phases of pharmacy services under pharmacist supervision.
• Answers phones and provides excellent customer service at practice site.
• Collects clinical and other patient information and maintains required records.
• Prepares medication orders for dispensing and compounds medications per state law and protocols.
• Ensures supervision and accuracy checks by pharmacists and knows when to verify tasks.
• Maintains medication supplies and verifies controlled substance inventories for security and cost management.
• Packages and labels medications accurately to minimize waste and ensure proper dispensing.
• Maintains pharmacy cleanliness and orderliness and participates in quality and safety initiatives.
• Participates in departmental meetings and seeks improvements to patient satisfaction and processes.
• Promotes Intermountain Health values and adheres to service behavior standards.
