Responsibilities

Review and screen patient medication records for allergies, drug interactions, and duplications when entering/verifying orders.
Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions promptly.
Interpret physician orders to prepare and dispense correct dosages for inpatient and outpatient care.
Prepare and dispense IV admixtures using aseptic technique in sterile areas.
Organize daily duties and supervise technicians, aides, interns, and other staff involved in pharmaceutical care.
Fill prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations using available technology.
Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.
