Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for its Pediatric unit. This full-time, night-shift position emphasizes family-centered care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining high standards of patient safety.

The RN will participate in cross-training to the Level II NICU, manage labor and delivery support, and ensure accurate documentation and patient education.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license; Illinois license if practicing in IL.
• BLS required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Strong math and critical thinking abilities.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial assessments and ongoing patient evaluations.
• Creates and updates care plans based on patient needs.
• Provides medications, treatments, and education to patients and families.
• Coordinates with physicians, therapists, and other team members.
• Ensures effective handoffs and documentation in the EHR.
